An absorbent is activated carbon in granular form that has the ability to remove 75-95 % of the present organic matter in the water.

From the presence of organic matter, water has the most unpleasant odor and taste, which is worsened by previous chlorination that reacts with traces of phenol spray in the water and gives a medical taste from the formed phenol chlorine, so activated carbon is carried out by the so-called chlorine phenol. decomposition of water.

Activated carbon effectively binds residual chlorine from water that is undesirable inside ion exchangers and reverse osmosis devices.
